Any chenille yarn or chenille fabric made with chenille yarn contains certain water or moisture.

By nature and feature of different material of chenille yarn, the moisture rate differs. Generally, viscose chenille yarn has got the “ wet king” nickname: under normal weather condition, the viscose chenille yarn moisture rate is about 10% or even more.

Cotton chenille yarn also absorbs water, in rainy or wet weather, it  get to high level.

Acrylic chenille yarn is FAQ quality as far as moisture rate is concerned. It contains medium moisture rate no matter n dry or set season.

Polyester chenille yarn: without doubt is a 3A student in yarn moisture as it doesn’t take water and rate is little in polyester chenille.

Gernerally speaking, There is a moisture balance: the temperature and humidity of the air directly affect the state and moisture release of chenille yarn . And when the moisture absorption is equal to the moisture emission, the moisture absorption balance state is achieved, and the at that point, we can test and confirm the moisture rate.

Normally, chenille yarn can reach balance state after 6-8 hours in the normal environment.
