Because of the characters of metallic yarn, fabric with metallic yarn is somehow difference in maintenance:

Specialized dry cleaning with perchlorethylene is favored to laundering.

The only suggested laundering method is hand laundering with Woolite and cold water.

As metallic yarn is made of synthetic film coating with metallic particles, so never launder with bleach.

Fabrics containing metallic yarns should be treated like all synthetic fabrics.

Ironing should be at the lowest setting on the iron, otherwise the coating particles even the film of metallic yarn will get destoryed.

We should not use a iron without the themostar for the fabric with metallic yarn.

What is more, do not use steam when ironing metallic yarns.

Keep in mind, metallic yarn is a beautiful decorative yarn but not so strong and durable.
