The making of chenille yarn knots w/ chenille fabric effect

Chenille yarn knotting work or splicing chenille must be done properly and very carefully. Because badly done chenille yarn knots will cause defect on chenille fabric surface which is very clear and makes quality problem.

In chenille yarn producing process, simply tying a knot in chenille yarn itself creates a defect. There are two ways for tying the chenille yarn:

Standard right one is core know: this is made by stripping back the pile of both ends of the chenille yarn so that workers can tie a double square knot in the core yarn. Attention must be paid to hold the twist in the yarn ends where the pile starts.

Once the double square knot is tied, the chenille yarn ends are clipped close to the small and tight knot and the pile yarn covers the chenille yarn knots.

The other way is using a splice. To create a splice, the two ends of chenille yarn are overlapped 1 to 2 inches and a mechanical wrap-around splicing device applies the warp yarn. The warp yarn can be either a fine monofilament nylon or a fine yarn with same fiber to the chenille yarn.
